Christmas is my favorite time of the year! This Christmas, I am thankful for not only my family and friends, but the many blessings God has blessed me with this year. I am going to admit, this year has been a rollercoaster with finishing up my Master’s degree, working a stressful job and building my brand. Just a little testimony: coming into 2015, I prayed and claimed that 2015 will be my year of breakthrough. I have been extremely blessed this year, not only to finish off the year graduating with my MBA, I was featured in The Plain Dealer, offered many jobs doing makeup, and the list goes on.
A takeaway from this post is to work in silence and let your success make all of the noise. Many people do not see the blood, sweat and tears that come along with success. Continue to work hard, stay faithful and pray for favor! Along the way, make a list of goals and if you are a visual person like me, create a vision board of everything that you would like to accomplish. Now that we are wrapping up the final quarter of the year take the time to reflect on what you have accomplished this year and focus on your goals for next year. Right now, I have no complaints. The weather is terrific (no snow!!!), and I am ready for 2016! I am SohoGLAM is ready for 2016. There is plenty in store for I am SohoGLAM, including the launch of J House of Artistry. Stay tuned! Until then, be blessed and have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
First off, let me say this. I am not perfect, and I am not a robot.
Now that we got that out of the way let me be quite frank with you. Ever since I packed my bags and relocated to Atlanta, the journey has not been all roses. Granted, I am grateful for this opportunity, but the process that comes along with relocating is mad real. There were a lot of endeavors that occurred in my personal life last year that I unprepared for, but hey, that’s life, right
Happy October! It's a new month, and we are just under 100 days remaining of 2018. I remember at the beginning of this year, I read through my list of goals I wanted to achieve for 2018 and I can honestly tell you that rebranding was not one of them. However, I did indicate through prayer for an increase in my business and craft.
I know, I have been MIA for some time now, but a lot has happened in my personal life. I had plans on writing some blog posts regarding spending my first birthday as an Atlanta resident, my one year anniversary as a resident of Atlanta and other random posts including some podcast recordings. However, some events happened in my life to where I decided to take a mental break.
There is nothing like a good ole blogger challenge! My blogger boo Courtney from Passionate Woman CS created a fun challenge in her latest post, 25 & Winging It. She created this challenge for bloggers to share some fun facts, confessions and life lessons about us. So when my girl and blogger boo Michaela from A Dash of Michaela, shared her post, 23 & Winging It, she then tagged me to join the challenge as well and I am ready for the task.
I have always been a fan of Drake's music, especially when he released More Life last year. To this day I still play that album from start to finish. Earlier this year, he released God's Plan, and it caught my attention, at least I thought it did until he dropped, Nice for What this past Friday night. Let me tell you, the MOMENT I HEARD THIS SONG, I instantly fell in love.
I want to give you my "grand rounds" of creating content for your blog, brand, website, social media, etc. One thing I can attest to is that when I began my journey of blogging, all I had was my MacBook and my iPhone.
As the 2017 holiday season comes to a close and the new year is approaching, I want to take a moment to thank every one of you for supporting my brand and me. Becoming a blogger has always been a dream of mine, and before the launch of I am SohoGlam, I was afraid to open up and share my vision with the world.
Good day, my beauties! For this post, I want to feature another blog post I read a few weeks back on how to deal with copycats. As a creative, we all have our own identity and originality. However, there are times where we have people in our lives who "swagger jacks" us.
Happy Thanksgiving my beauties! I wanted to write a quick post to wish you all a great Thanksgiving and to let you know what I am thankful for. Of course, the main thing I look forward to is spending time with my family and eating great food. However, I am grateful for my ability to share a piece of my life with you on my blog.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure to speak with a fellow blogger and entrepreneur, Terrace Sherman from The Royal Queendom. In this podcast, Terrace and I share our journeys thus far on starting where you are when you relocate.
